Marketing: Then V/S Now!

October 11, 2019

10 years ago, people would spend 5 minutes listening to their modem beep just to access Facebook on their old school desktop. Now, with a single click, the same people have access to any information they need in just 0.95 seconds. They click the back button on your website if it takes longer than 3 seconds to load. They’ll buy from someone else if you don’t follow them right, around the internet with some constantly engaging, hyper-personalized experience on the right touchpoints.

Consumer Behaviour, Demands and Expectations have indelibly changed, and so has Marketing. All thanks to the greatest equaliser, TECHNOLOGY!

Marketers didn’t have it easy in the late 90s and the early 2000s. Things were a lot messier than they are today, as the data was not accurate and we were paying for it. The channels available were: TV Adverts, Local Billboards & Displays, Newspaper Ads and occasional Emails.

Today, as a Marketer, you can track and alter multiple customer journeys across dozens of channels available on the internet and print. To stay relevant you have the power to put up the right messaging at the right time — personalised to each prospect’s possible needs.

A lot can be done, and we are just moving forward!

Here’s an infographic for you to explore the ways marketing has changed between 2019 and the good old 90s.

With the Internet bringing feasibility, personalisation and new technologies to our leverage, marketing has never been tough and easier at the same time.
