The Factory of Content

February 28, 2020

How much content are you exposed to everyday?

It’s a hard question to answer, right?

Let’s take an example of Google. We use Google on a daily basis.

When you enter a question into the search bar, those links that appear in your search results are content.

Whether you know it or not, you consume content on a daily basis.

The most important asset of your business is content. Not only business, it’s for anything you want to convey.

Content is everywhere!!

To create compelling content; seems elusive, isn’t it?

Content does not necessarily be done with the purpose of your brand, your products, or your services. It’s about your audience.

Think about what would interest them, at the same time think how to create content as quickly as possible.

Now you might think that writing engaging content isn’t something that everyone can generate.

Then you’d be wrong in that. To make a content piece is as easy as writing a Tweet.

For that, you don’t have to only write a blog or make a social media post.

You simply have to curate content, instead of creating it.

There are simplest ways possible for content curation.

Today, you can do more with less.

You just add your own custom content types, with your own content names to help you organize in a much better way.

Let’s get more specific…

To help you decide which content types to add to your marketing calendar, let’s dig a list of ideas.

To start with, let’s take the previous example of Tweets

A concise Tweet makes an impact. This is the simplest and shortest way of content creation.

Puns, humor, and quotes are great content on Twitter. You just have to find some related to your business and tweet them.

Conversations that you have with your customers every day can also happen on Twitter. And you can approach these Twitter conversations the same way, like you’re talking to a good friend.

Live Streaming

It’s again a great way of content creation.

This should come as no surprise as social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube are developing tools for brands and publishers to create engaging video content.

If you look for a way to connect with your audience in real time, then live streaming is the best solution to engage with an audience and share your brand story.

You can pull out your phone, open Facebook, and start streaming to Facebook or Instagram Live on the spot. It’s as simple as that, there’s no rocket science involved.

Podcasts

To get your word out into the world isn’t as hard as you may think. Podcasts serve as an easy way to make your ideas and thoughts available to a large audience.

Podcast makes your content accessible at their own convenience. It’s also another great option for repurposing existing content.

Podcasts have been a mainstream content channel for years now and are still growing. It is an extremely fun and exciting way for content creation.

It can be as simple as having a basic conversation.

Do you have a friend, business partner, or coworker with whom you can co-host with?

It can be much easier to start podcasting if you have a co-host.

You will naturally have a more engaging conversation if you both share your points of view on a topic.

Customer Success Stories

Do you want to talk about how great your company, product, or service is?

Again; it’s one more way of content creation. But it doesn’t get much better than testimonials from your customers.

After all, we can all talk about how great we are, but that message has a lot more power behind it if it comes from someone else.

It is much more effective for you to ask for 15 minutes of their time via phone, where you ask them questions and record the answers.

Otherwise, customers themselves post on their social media if you provide them with some incentives.

Checklists

One of the quickest forms of content creation is checklists.

They’re insanely popular, attracting hundreds of thousands of shares in some cases.

This type of content includes worksheets, tip sheets, and cheat sheets. They’re easy to make by pulling out the key points from another type of content (like a blog post).

Quizzes and Polls

Quizzes are one of the most engaging content formats. They will definitely get your audience’s attention.

Similarly, polls can boost engagement by making participants curious about the results.

Shareable, fun content makes a good addition to any content strategy. And since they’re usually easy to complete, that’s an added bonus for your audience.

Make use of Instagram Poll and Quiz stickers.

Instagram Stories polls not only grab your audience’s attention, but they also create an opportunity to hear directly from your followers and customers.

Memes

You’ve seen memes. They’re easy to make. They’re viral. They’re hilarious.

That’s one of the great benefits of memes- humor. People love something that they can laugh at, share, and get a kick out of.

Memes don’t require graphic design skills. Meme Generator and Quick Meme are sites that allow you to add your own text to popular meme images.

Round up your favorite links

To sit on a potential goldmine of content ideas, share interesting industry links to your social profiles throughout the week.

It’s the cherry on the cake, if you have a social media monitoring tool such as Sprout Social.

At the start of each week, log into the area of your monitoring tool that reports analytics on your past posts and select few of the links that received the most engagement on your social profiles.

Compile these into a “weekly link-round-up” post to share on your website. It’ll only take a few minutes and the results could be huge!

Historical Content

A lot of businesses have old file cabinets, boxes, or storage units full of “old stuff.”

A lot of times, you can digitize it and share it with people in an interesting way.

People respond to memories, because they make emotions bubble up. If you can find some nostalgia related to your brand, you can maybe tap into your audience’s emotions.

Southwest Airlines made great use of nostalgia. They have a separate Pinterest board, full of old ads by the company.

To create content does not have to be an epic task that takes hours or days to go from idea to concept.

It is possible to create compelling content in record time with the right strategy.

There are actually ways you can create quality content in very less time.

So it’s time to learn how to develop your own content machine.

These are just 9 content pieces, there’s a workshop by the Co- Founder of Synclarity, Jaljeet Ajani that shows you how to create 100 pieces of content in 90 minutes, right in front of your eyes.
